All the Fun Places You Can Get Free Admission During July 4th Week With a Military ID
To anyone in the military, the Fourth of July is not at all like Veteran’s Day or Memorial Day. Those are somber occasions to reflect on those they have served with, or those they have lost. Instead, the Fourth is a day for service members to celebrate America—its history, its origin, its founders. And what better way to properly celebrate the independence of our great nation than with some fun family time in Florida? As a small way to thank members of our armed services, fun attractions all over the state are giving free admission to retired and active members of the military, both on and around Independence Day. July 4th has become a day that guests with military ID can enjoy a day of leisure with their families for free at theme parks, zoos, museums, and more.
Through the Waves of Honor program, any U.S. active-duty military, drilling reservist, or National Guardsman gets one complimentary admission per year to either SeaWorld, Busch Gardens or Sesame Place for military personnel and as many as three direct dependents. SeaWorld and Sesame Place are located in Orlando while Busch Gardens is located in Tampa.
At Legoland located in Winter Haven, active-duty military receive free admission to LEGOLAND Florida Resort & Water Park. The Park features 50 fun ride rides, interactive shows and attractions inspired by popular LEGO brands!
Current US military members, veterans and Gold Star families are eligible for a free annual pass from the National Park Service, a value of $80. Florida is home to 11 national parks which stretch from the Gulf Islands National Seashore in the Panhandle to Dry Tortugas National Park, a remote island 70 miles off Key West.
Active and retired US military members receive free single-day admission at Gatorland year-round when they present their military I.D. Gatorland is a 110 - acre theme park and wildlife preserve, featuring thousands of alligators, crocodiles, native and endangered birds, a free flight aviary, breeding marsh with observation tower, petting zoo, nature trails, a train ride and zip line.
Family Fun Center is Lakeland’s top spot for family fun and is offering a free game of miniature golf to all active duty and retired service members who present a valid ID on the Fourth of July. This family entertainment center is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and has been a staple in the community for multiple generations with a variety of ways to play for all ages.
All active, reservist, and retired members of the military get free admission and up to three other guests get 50% off their admission.
