Tis the Season for IAAPA
At Dion Marketing, we are preparing to attend the upcoming International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions’ (IAAPA) Annual Convention and Trade Show. The IAAPA Attractions Expo is the largest international trade show for the amusements and attractions industry featuring more than 35,000 professionals from 100 nations all converging on the epicenter of the business of fun: Orlando, Florida. This year’s conference is November 12 – 16.
Because we specialize in the amusement industry, we are lucky to be located just a few hours away from the theme park capital of the world! Each year, many of our clients in the family entertainment center, attractions and waterpark industries, make the trip to Orlando for IAAPA where we get a chance to meet with them and discuss the season’s highlights and marketing goals and strategies for the upcoming year.
All IAAPA attendees are linked by a passion for the entertainment industry, desire to build relationships, test new innovations and learn best practices. In 2018, IAAPA is having its centennial celebration in conjunction with the expo and will focus on Fun Forward to Build the Future.
Many of our clients are focused on future technology in order to offer their guests the most up-to-date fun with state-of-the-art attractions. Virtual reality was the biggest new splash in technology in 2017, and we are looking forward to seeing that evolve even more and what’s new for 2019.
For operators, IAAPA is a perfect place to experience new ride technology. The trade show floor has more than 10 miles of aisles and over 1100 exhibitors showcasing everything from virtual reality experiences, the best arcade games, redemptions prizes and more.
And we love it when our clients get additions to their ride and attraction repertoire, because not only is it exciting, it provides us with new ways to promote and market the newest way to have fun.
Speaking of promotions, if you are looking for fresh ideas and new revenue-building campaigns, we hope to see you at the Growing Fun through Powerful Promotions Lunch on Wednesday, November 14. Our president, Julie Dion, will be part of a panel discussion on ways to successfully execute promotions with an opportunity to collaborate, network, and brainstorm with fellow FEC marketers and operators from around the world, and share best practices on how to create effective promotions that achieve great results. Attendees should register in advance, since these marketing sessions tend to sell out. Here’s a convenient link.
