Daytona Lagoon plans reopening pending local approval
Daytona Lagoon will soon be welcoming guests in Daytona Beach, FL. Local officials approved reopening plans. The city of Daytona Beach and Volusia County reviewed Daytona Lagoon’s reopening plan and endorsed it prior to Memorial Day.
“We are very thankful to all officials who have worked with us to endorse our reopening plan to keep guests healthy. We are committed to a safe visit for everyone,” says Tyler Currie, General Manager.
The reopening plans now await Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for final approval. He has stated he wants to see theme parks reopen once they submitted plans for keeping employees and guests protected from the coronavirus. Daytona Lagoon is a local and regional water park and family entertainment center that is following the governor’s request.
Daytona Lagoon is implementing additional facility-wide improvements to its already stringent health and hygienic focused operating procedures in anticipation of reopening after the Covid-19 temporary closure. To prepare, we have undergone a review of our entire operation, from individual attractions to the type of cleaning products, capacity restraints for social distancing measures to the specific location of readily available hand sanitizer.
