Daytona Lagoon waterpark and family entertainment center will celebrate the official grand opening of two new water slides with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday featuring Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood among the first riders.
Daytona Lagoon, at 601 Earl St., is officially opening “Kraken’s Revenge,” a 50-foot high four-lane slide that takes riders through a high-speed skylight tunnel, as well as the “Shaka Halfpipe,” a float ride built on a pendulum-style, 50-foot tall half-pipe design.
