Get your snow day at Jacksonville Ice & Sportsplex
First Coast Living visits Jacksonville Ice & Sportsplex to celebrate Snow Days - extended hours for holiday public ice skating every day. It's something people of all ages look forward to every year!
Jacksonville Ice and Sportsplex is extending their public ice-skating hours for the holidays starting this Friday and continuing through January 4. Multiple public ice-skating sessions are available each day. Guests can expect snowfall during each public session and visits from Santa and mascot, Jax Cool. They will also be open on New Year’s Day.
Admission is $12 and includes skate rental and taxes. Guests who bring their own skates save $2 on admission. The Snack Shack will be open during public skating hours. All ages and skill levels are welcome, and there are ice walkers available to rent for younger guests. On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, patrons can enjoy Family BOGO Night, a buy-one-get-one-free admission price from 6 p.m. – 9p.m. every Tuesday night. This year, Jacksonville Ice is starting a new tradition for New Year’s Day called Polar Skate. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite beachwear and take the plunge on the ice rink at 12:45 pm. There will be photo ops with Jax Cool and prizes for best beachwear. Then, guests can change into something warmer and enjoy ice skating from 1 – 5 pm.
Jacksonville Ice and Sportsplex is Northern Florida’s only year-round ice-skating facility and indoor sports complex featuring a full-size turf field and six basketball and volleyball courts in addition to our NHL regulation-size indoor hockey rink.
