Grab Your Love and a Lock For a Parisian Valentine's Day at National Harbor

Pretend you are in the city of love and swoon over your significant other for an evening with the "Love is in the Air" package at the Capital Wheel at National Harbor.

The Capital Wheel at National Harbor is allowing couples to padlock their love this February in honor of Valentine's Day with an experience inspired by the popular love lock bridges around the world.

An eight-foot tall replica wheel with heart shaped gondolas has been installed at The Capital Wheel along with a temporary wrought iron fence featuring ornate, romantic scroll-work.

Couples, best friends, and families can purchase one of two "Love is in the Air" packages that include a love lock and the opportunity to experience a great view of the city, 180-feet in the air.

Guests participating will receive a padlock and permanent marker to commemorate their love by writing their initials, date or special expression on the lock. Locks can then be attached to either the replica wheel or fencing, and secured for safe-keeping.

“Adding love locks and other sweet treats to a cozy outing on The Capital Wheel gives romantics a fun Valentine’s Day alternative and an experience they will always remember. Plus, regardless of the temperature outside, it’s always 72-degrees inside our climate controlled gondolas,” said Derek Lovato, The Capital Wheel’s general manager.
