Does Social Media Impact Your Business?
Social media has taken over the Internet, and there’s no escaping it. Does it impact your business? The answer is yes. Your social media is how the public perceives your business. Nowadays, before heading to a boutique, amusement park or destination, everyone checks the reviews and social media. People want to know what to expect before even getting into the car.
Without social media, your clientele has less chance of finding out about your company, what you offer and about your events, sales or specials. Your social media sets a tone for your business and showcases the type of environment your clients can expect when they walk in. So, if you haven’t already, it’s time to take the plunge and dive into social media!
It’s crucial to make your customers feel important. If you decide to pass on social media for your business, you are missing the opportunity to interact with your clients daily. It’s also extremely helpful for customers to have a way to ask questions or leave reviews. Without social media, you won’t know what customers like and don’t like and how to improve your company.
Social media also gives you a second chance to fix a problem and restore a customer’s trust in your company. If a negative review is left, make sure to be as helpful as possible and to always give multiple solutions to the problem. This will make your customer feel cared for. Other customers will see this exchange and know that your business values their clients.
Tying in current events to your business is a way to create relevant content for your consumers. One of Dion Marketing’s clients is Hawaiian Falls, a group of waterparks in a city with temperatures soaring to 110 degrees. During this abnormally hot week, we created a blog for Hawaiian Falls discussing important safety summer tips to beat the heat. Not only did we use this blog to promote Hawaiian Falls, but we also took the time to give their customers relevant safety information. The blog was shared on all of Hawaiian Falls’ social media platforms.
What makes a successful social media? Consistency. Make sure to post at least four times a week, and always use social media platforms to promote any specials or sales. Having multiple social media platforms allows you to reach a much larger audience. At the minimum, it’s important to have a Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Snapchat is a newer platform that has a lot of benefits, including filters that catch user’s attention if they’re near an event or sale. LinkedIn can be beneficial for posting jobs and announcing corporate accomplishments. Always reply to private messages, reviews and comments. If your company is a fun-loving and relaxed environment, use that tone when replying to customers. Don’t be afraid to use customers names, it makes the reply feel more personal.
